British Values
Introduction
FAB Learning is proud of its ethos and its commitment to its values of respect, inclusivity and responsibility. Promoting independence and supporting our students to become responsible young adults.
We are passionate about fulfilling our duty to promote British Values, as defined by the DfE document ‘Promoting fundamental British values through SMSC in schools’.
The Department for Education defines British Values as:
- Democracy
- The rule of law
- Individual liberty
- Mutual respect
- Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs
Curriculum
Our commitment to promoting fundamental British Values underpins the way we function, in our interactions and in the way we communicate both with one another and with people in our community.
Whilst PSHE is a key area for exploring and promoting these values, the wider curriculum also supports our work in this essential area. We actively incorporate Cultural Capital into our lessons. Teaching students the understanding of democracy and respect for other peoples’ opinions.
Students are encouraged to regard others with respect and tolerance.
